ABOUT 9th Malaysian Symposium of
Biomedical Science
Malaysian Symposium of Biomedical Science (MYSYMBIOS) is an annual national-level programme, which gathers all the Biomedical Science students across Malaysia, mainly to discuss and exchange the knowledge related to the healthcare research and diagnostic fields. It also provides a full platform for developing and strengthening a community of future biomedical scientists that will help to drive the advancement of Biomedical Science as a professional field in Malaysia.
Up till now, there are 8 national-level symposiums that have been successfully organized by six universities, which are University of Malaya (UM), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), which involves the participation of the private and public universities across our country. The upcoming symposium will be hosted by the Department of Biomedical Science, University of Malaya.

OUR LOGO
Forming the logo is a torch, with a burning fire with peach flames which also has turquoise chromosomes glowing from the essence of the fire.
TORCH
Made up of the Cadeceus, an ancient Greek symbol signifying the medicine field.
FIRE
With fire being one of the four fundamental elements of life, epitomises that Biomedical Science, is too a vital pillar of medicine.
CHROMOSOMES
Seen glowing from the torch, denoting how Biomedical Science is influencing the enhancement of life by the advancement of medicine. Its structure is the roman number 9, IX, signifying this year being the 9th instalment of the symposium.
COLOURS
Peach flames highlights the spirit of friendship and appreciation that is embodied by the contestants of this symposium. The radiant turquoise colour denotes wisdom that is shimmering through these bonds that are crafted.
